Aggregated Finder Windows to View Multiple Folders

Is there way to have a custom Finder window showing the contents from two separate folders?

Scenario...

I have two external drives. In them, a parent folder with hundreds of sub-folders. I'd like to have one Finder showing the hundreds of sub folders from each drive. I want the ability to Drag/Copy out of the same window.

I've tried Smart Folders but can't seem to find the correct criteria to specify because the hundreds of sub-folders have unique names.

One alternative I have to demonstrate this partially is, placing the parent folder for each drive to the Finder Side Bar. I would toggle between the two. This would certainly cut down on the clicks to get to the folders and it would be awesome if I could Shift-Click the two folders in the Sidebar to select them both at once too see their combined contents in the same Finder window.

Thanks,

JT

If you are happy to pay for it - the application Pathfinder has a Dual Pane window ( + numerous other features )

Personally i use an applescript which opens two finder windows simultaneously - one above the other. I access it from the dock. This allows any combination of folders to be opened, moved or copied between the windows.

i appreciate that its not quite what you are looking for, but this simple system works well for me.

Try Yoink. You can drag files to a shelf then navigate to where you want to go and drop files in new location.

Thank you all for your responses. I have completed my project. As it turned out, I ended up toggling between the volumes/folders using the Finder Sidebar.
