[Mac App Store] USBMate - accelerates the operation of USB Flash drive! +PROMO
Hello,
We are pleased to introduce our new Mac OS utility USBMate USBMate is an app which optimizes and accelerates the operation of USB Flash drives, external hard disks and Flash memory cards. Use USBMate every time before ejecting your USB Flash drive and: • its contents will be clean and optimized, without useless junk. All temporary files left by Snow Leopard / Lion or Windows (.DS_Store, .Trashes, .Spotlight-V100, Thumbs.db, etc.) will be erased. • it will be made secure thanks to the built in anti-virus! Every time USBMate is launched, the anti-virus automatically checks and purges the USB Flash drive’s contents of all AutoRun viruses! All you have to do is launch the app before ejecting the USB Flash drive: A few seconds later, it will be optimized, clean and secure! Remember: Snow Leopard / Lion / Windows put temporary files and other junk in your USB Flash drive every time you use it. Launch USBMate each time before ejecting a USB Flash drive, and it will stay clean and secure! That’s because only USBMate has a full-featured anti-virus program! When you erase files from a USB Flash drive, they’re only moved to the trash. The data itself isn’t erased. Use USBMate and see how much free space is really left in your USB Flash drive. It’s one of the most practical utility apps to use every day with Snow Leopard / Lion. -=Mac App Store USBMate=- Promo codes : JXK69L763JR4 ELPJKWY74EKT PEMTJAMTERY3 NN6PEE46HPF7 If you use a code, please post that you took it. Please review/rate us in the App Store! Thanks! Price : $4.99 Best regards, Alexander Bond Sales & Marketing Executive / Sales & Marketing Manager Alice Dev Team alicedev.com |

Hmmm.....
AutoRun is a Windows The .DS_Store file stores folder view settings - removing it resets the folder view to the default. This may or may not be desirable. Gets re-created next time the drive is inserted. Same with Spotlight files - on a drive with many files this can take time to re-index each time the drive is inserted. Also applies to thumbs.db on windows machines. Deleting it doesn't get you anywhere. Also, as flash memory is write limited what good are we doing by erasing things that will be re-created the very next time the usb drive meets a computer? Nice icon. |

If it doesn't protect my flash drives from digital jitter and vibration then I'm not interested.

Ummm, off topic but you seem to be making a joke of it and jitter is a very real problem with digital transmission of signals that rely on a clock, such as digital audio.
Worrying about vibration of digital signal IS a joke, on the other hand. Trevor

There do seem to be a lot of apps on the MAS that Apple has allowed -- I'm sure their code conforms to all the requirements and is sandboxed, etc -- but whose function appears to be ... less than useful.
There are loads of "Memory Free-er" apps, which are completely pointless, as well as unnecessary "maintenance" apps, sweeping away your rogue logs and caches. It's a nice little racket, but as the MAS is supposed to be a trusted repository.... |
