Crazy Iphone 4S behavior from the App store

Crazy Iphone 4S (IOS 6.1.2 [started in prior 6.1 release]) behavior from the App store.. Have a person with an Iphone 4S that has Apps Stuck in updating and Installing. Other Apps Install fine except the stuck ones.

I tried closing apps in question, rebooting, tried updating to IOS 6.1.2. Tried signing in and out of the App store.

The only thing I have not done is back up and restore the phone as a last resort.

I don't think a backup and restore is a "last resort" - it's the next step...

Agreed. Did a little more research online and apparently touching the App within the App store will take you to the App and potentially unstick it.... Will try that first, and then back up and restore

No!

You definitely do NOT have to restore the iPhone. This happens to me fairly routinely, maybe every few weeks? As a matter of fact, it happened to me today guys. (And the App store was crawling, I wonder if this is Apple server-side related?)

Just go to the half-wit app on homescreen and tap. Tap the other ones. Tap again. Eventually they have ALWAYS fully loaded for me and installed. It may be tedious, but I've always fixed it this way.

In extreme cases, I've deleted the app and reinstalled altogether. But tap, retap and then tap again always has done the trick for me.

TY, that is what I will try first. Some were of course not yet installed at all I believe. Will update. I have read that navigating from the App Store Icon if the updating app seems to work well for this stupid process.
