How to re-enable Java web start 1.6 on 10.7?
I have a fully updated 10.7 installation which means that I can run java desktop applications but seem unable to launch applets and web start applications.
I have followed the instructions in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5559, to no avail. When I double click a JNLP-file i get a dialog: ------- To open this Web Start application, you need to download the Java Runtime Environment. Click “More Info…” to visit the website for the Java Runtime Environment. ------- but I already have a JRE installed. Trying to launch the jnlp from the command line looks like this: $ javaws airview.jnlp Java Web Start splash screen process exiting ... Can not find message file: No such file or directory $ java -version java version "1.6.0_37" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode)

Need to install JRE 1.7
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...s-1880261.html Apple is no longer are supporting Java 1.6 on 10.7+ and Xprotect has disabled Java due to security issues. You can modify Xprotect to allow running of Java 1.6 if needed. http://sugarjets.com/so-you-need-to-...-mountain-lion Last edited by agentx; 02-11-2013 at 04:32 AM. |
