Java white list?
I use two sites regularly which require Java client in the browser. Is there a way to allow them, but no others? I'm using Safari, so NoScript for FireFox isn't an option.
ClickToPlug-in is too much like hard work. I don't want to authorise every instance by hand. One of them is HP's toner recycling website, which creates a postage-paid address label to send your old cartridges back. (The other is the manuscripts catalogue of the Dresden State Library, if you're interested.) |

There are no whitelist options in Java. It has been a requested feature for many years but will Oracle pull the thumb out.....unlikely. They tend to do certificate based security but not all Java apps have certs !

If the usage is for specific purposes (as it seems), then what's the problem in switching to a different browser just for these sites? Further along the same lines, consider making a dedicated application for these using something like Fluid: http://fluidapp.com

A fair point. I suppose I could. I was just looking to see if anyone knew of a solution that would work in the background with Safari. |
