Fixing an older Wacom?

When this Older Wacom (graphire...wired) stopped working, I hung onto it..when you plug in, the light comes on but not much else happens; neither mouse nor pen registers with the tablet.

I have suspected the cable, but not sure if it's even worth the time to try to put on another cable...

anyone with experience in this are care to weigh in on it?

be nice to have this tablet working again; I could put it to immediate use...

thank you!

Just to check have you installed Wacom drivers ?
What OS you on ?

I actually dug mine out the other day (Intuos2) and installed latest drivers and all worked good. If a hardware issue then maybe try replacing cable but it is a very EOL product i.e.. 2000-2005 and you could be flogging a dead horse.

EOL? meaning that even if brand new cable and latest drivers wouldn't work?

End of Life, as in Wacom no longer supports the device and there are no new drivers. the "latest" drivers may be a few years old.

Worth a try, though.
