Any Mac apps that can read/write Corel Draw files?

I am new to the Mac, and could use some guidance here.

I need to be able to do some fairly simple drawings (guitar/bass amplifier face plates) and save them as Corel Draw files so that they can be sent to a laser etching company for production. It looks like Corel Draw is Windows only, so I need a suggestion on an easy to use graphics program that can read my old CDR files, as well as write out new ones. All suggestions are welcome (other than use a PC ). My last resort is to install Corel Draw in a Windows XP/7 Virtual Box, but I would rather be native Mac if I can swing it.

Thanks,
Steve

The first thing I would do is check with the laser etching company to see what formats they accept. I would be surprised if Corel Draw was the only one they accept.

I too would be surprised if the etching firm did not accept PDFs, EPS, Illustrator ai files, but rather only accepted CorelDraw.

This Adobe note about moving files from CorelDraw to Illustrator might be useful.

They can handle other formats, but they charge for using them. It seems that their machines/process are setup for Corel Draw files only, so they have to manually convert other formats, and then tweak them if they don't convert just right.

I'm surprised they can stay in business, requiring Corel Draw files like that. Do they want the files delivered on 5 1/4 inch floppies?

Nice

Their service is fantastic and they specialize in amp builders, so they have a pretty good captive audience. But I'll double check again about other formats just to be sure.
