Question: DiskWarrior Automatic diagnostics

I didn't find the answer to my question in the DW manual..

...which is, once I've checked the box to, "Automatically check all drives for hardware malfunction" do I need to keep the DiskWarror application running, or does this function work in the background even when DW is not running?

Thank you

The information is in your DW manual, in the section about DiskWarrior's hardware monitoring.
In my copy, it starts on page 46, at the end of Chapter 2: Using Disk Warrior.
You'll see that if you have that box checked, that you now have an additional item in your account login items, called "DiskWarriorStarter" (at least, that happens on my system when I check that box.)
And, it does the checking automatically, at the time interval that you choose from the menu.
So, it follows that you don't need to do anything with DiskWarrior, as the little app in your login items will check at that interval, and run if needed (hence the term "automatically" )
My question will be "How well does that work?" I don't use that automatic function, so maybe you could report back, if you get some strange result. Otherwise, you shouldn't be aware of it working, unless it finds a problem.
