Wireless antenna?
Does anyone know of any device I can use with my Mac that lets me get better reception on a wireless network? Basically, something that is going to get better reception than my MBP, and then let me access that stronger signal from the MBP?
If it matters, this is a public wireless network that I do not control and requires you to "accept" the T&C periodically to stay connected. It seems I am just barely on the fringe of connectivity and it fades in and out all the time, which is quite annoying. |

Google does help with that:
![]() http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 but Quickertek is a specialist company that has been around for most of the time that wireless has been available. Here's one from them: http://www.quickertek.com/products/Q4Dual.html or - maybe your own "enhanced" access point can help: http://www.quickertek.com/products/AntennaExpress.html That's not quite as portable as a simple antenna booster, but might be worth looking at... Quickertek is not the only company that does these types of wireless products, but they do a good job, and (I think) are well respected for their products. |

Google can be used for pretty much anything someone is going to ask on here....I was trying to be conversational, esp. given the general lack of traffic as far as I can tell.
That looks just like what I had in mind. Now I just hope it works. I'll have to check their return policy and see what they say, but from the quick look, that looks promising. Thanks for the link (: |
