Can't mount drive; Disk Utility sees it
I have a SimpleTech external USB drive which I had mounted earlier today, and I may have disconnected it from the computer improperly, without ejecting it first.
Now, I can't get it to mount at all, even tho Disk Utility sees it, and offers "unmount" and "eject." Have I hosed this little drive by what I did, or can I get it back somehow? a |

1. Have you performed the Repair Disk function in Disk Utility?
2. I once had a similar situation and a restart of the Mac got an external drive mounting again. |

That would be a great solution, if and only if the format of the external drive is HFS+ (Mac OS Extended). I have a sneaking suspicion that acme's external drive is formatted FAT32, though. FAT32 drives are really delicate when not properly unmounted, I see this kind of thing all the time. DiskWarrior, of course, does not work on FAT32-formatted drives, try Disk Utility > First Aid > Repair Disk (not Repair Disk Permissions). Trevor
