Caller ID

Just bought my first iPhone, a refurbished iPhone 3GS. I love it, except caller ID displays only a number, not a name, even if the caller is in my address book. Is there a trick, a setting?

Does the number in your address book include the area code?

Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID > ON

Yes to area code (but not 1- preceding it) and yes to caller ID being on.

But, I have noticed it is working with my phone. I will play with my husband’s phone. He reported the problem to me, and I had not had any calls at that time. My husband is a tech-user but not a techie.
