Wifi: Snow versus Mt Lion?

I have a neighbor for whom we've set up a wireless network with new password and network name. He's a bright guy, but not an ace with Macs...I have intended to go upstairs and spend the 15 seconds required to set him up, but have had this cold...

They're older and I don't want to get them sick...

He is on, I believe Snow leopard (might be non-snow leopard) and I'm wondering, if I show my wife (who isn't sick) what do to and to give her a thumb drive with screen grabs of what to look for on my, Mt. Lion based Mac, will she see something reasonably similar when she gets upstairs to the neighbor's?

IOW, has Apple substantially "re-arranged the furniture" with respect to the methods one uses and the screens/dialogues one sees when setting up a new network to join in Mt. Lion versus Snow or non-Snow Leopard?

thank you for any clues about this!

The menubar icon, for the Airport, or Wifi, will be much the same from Leopard and newer.
Why not just call them, and say (or whatever else you want to add)?:
Click on the Airport menu
Choose the name of the network that you set up for them.
Give them the password to enter, when asked.
And -
probably nothing else will be needed, except for "open your browser (safari, whatever) and check that it loads a page."
And - at some later date, you could make sure that your network is at the top of their preferred network list - but that may not even be necessary, other than to check for that.

An excellent idea, and were the language barrier not an issue, I'd have done that a few weeks ago...

Both are in their 70s, and tho they do quite well in English in many ways, not so much when you have to "step on the gas" and use terminology that would be considered specialized...

I do know that, when they see me do the few quick moves it takes, the lightbulb will go on for them.

I'm giving them a beefy password using the stronger of the Wifi protocols, so I think they'll be set for quite some time....

Good to know it looks about the same, Leopard to Mt. Lion...

thank you!
