OS X 10.8.2 System Crashes?

Hoping someone on here is able to help with this issue.

I have recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and have done all the updates. I updated because my hard drive was corrupt, so had to wipe it and start over, so felt I might as well. I don't think the hard drive being wiped could have any implications, but maybe I am wrong.

Computer Information:

Macbook Pro
Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Operating System: OS X 10.8.2

My laptop has been crashing 5-10x a day, there is no consistency to it unfortunately which is what is confusing me. Its the same if Wifi is on/off, different applications open, etc.

The computer just randomly goes to the Grey screen where it tells you the computer has crashed, push a button to restart.

Once I have restarted here is the error message which is reported to Apple;

1) What you have been experiencing is called a "kernel panic" - knowing the usual terminology for this may help you in googling for similar cases.

2) It would seem from the "backtrace" in the panic report that you showed that the problem is related to the graphics system.
Unfortunately this may indicate a hardware problem with your graphics card/chip.
Check with Apple to see if your Mac might be covered under an extended warranty etc.

Got it, Thanks - Will take into the Mac Store today as its still under Apple Care

Just as an update to anyone having the same issue;

Took it into the Genius Bar today, they ran all their tests and the error replicated in store. They indicated its an issue with the Logic Board, which they are sending it off to be replaced.

Thank God for Apple Care... would have been $526.50 otherwise!

Man I hope someone can help me with this...

Ever since I updated to Mac OS 10.8.2 I get system crashes any time I try to:

1. update from the appstore
2. install software from DVD
3. install downloaded software
4. perform any update via Internet download

Sometimes certain websites cause a crash.

What gives?

It always crashes the same way. An update will start then the screen will flash and the system crashes, then the computer re-starts and after rebooting shows the problem report.

Is there any fix for this?
