How to make third-party apps "default"?
Like many others, I've downloaded the new Google Maps app. But Apple's Maps is still the default map app, so that if any other app brings up a location, it's Apple's.
Similarly, I've got a camera app called PhotoPro that has better controls than Apple's camera app, but if another app wants to take a picture, Apple's app is called up. I can't see anything in Settings, so I'm presuming there's no solution? |

Cannot do anything as it is the way the API's works at system level.

And this is why overall Androids platform is more flexible and does not have Apple's restrictions on use of APIs
[that is not a cue to open up an iOS v Android conversation] |

Well Google have released an SDK for Google Maps today which mean devs can point to Google Maps app instead of Apple Maps app but will mean updating their apps and creating a preference to choose between the two mapping platforms.
