Safari (iPad) bookmarks

Can anyone point me to a good explanation of how to create, save, edit, and retrieve bookmarks? The instructions in the iPad user guide seem to me incomprehensible.

I think bookmarking is pretty straightforward--touch the share button and choose "bookmark". Are you having a particular problem? What is it? If you search the web, you'll find lots of resources that already explain this.

It seems you are asking about Safari on iPad. If so, this belongs in the iOS section of the forums (not the OS X section) - so I'll move it there.

I think I've got it now. The iPad guide is somewhat misleading – it tells you to tap on the symbol that shows an arrow emerging from a little square, and then tap "Bookmark." That gets you nowhere. What you really need to do, apparently, is to tap "save."

I live and learn.

The "Bookmak" button does indeed create a bookmark. By the way, I don't have a button title "Save".

The "arrow" symbol produces a box with nine buttons, one of which is "Bookmark". For some reason I wasn't getting that box. Maybe my finger wasn't up to normal strength.

Now when I press "Bookmark" in that box, I get a panel headed "Add Bookmark," and that's where the little blue "save" button appears. It seems to mean that I can save it as it is, or edit its name and then save it – which is fine.

Thanks for dragging me through the process.

I think I know what was happening. Sometime when you touch the "share" button, there are so many apps registered to handle it that the list has to be scrolled to find the one you want. It's not always obvious. That might explain why you didn't see the bookmark button. I'm sorrybindidnt think of this earlier.
