10.1 OSX and MPI Bluetooth printer adapter?

I have an HP1220c inkjet. The MPI Bluetooth printer adapter works with the printer. Is it possible to use OSX Bluetooth with the MPI Bluetooth printer adapter -- in other words, can I print using bluetooth? That would be really cool.

Thanks for any insights.

I am looking into the same question. The MPI-USB http://www.mpitech.com/bpa/?header=mpi_tech unit sounds perfect as I am tired off having to plug and unplug my TiBook400 from my printer (HP PSC1210) just to knock out a page or two.

Anyone have any experience??

Exclamation bluetooth printing

Recently- After my last printer "bought the farm" when being moved from one end of the studio to the other, I thought, since it was just the usb socket that suffered the blow, I would seek out some sort of work-around. I found a 3com bluetooth WIRELESS printing kit
It hooked into the serial plug on the printer- and the receiver/sender to the Powerbook's USB. The Mac only catalog I found the gizmo in listed the product as Universal for platform.
Repeat after me, "at this time apple does NOT support bluetooth printing " My money was completely refunded! YAY!
AFTER a week of industrial strength tweaking, reading, writing Bluetooth developers, etc etc etc, I finally could hit "PRINT" and get 8 pages of gibberish, but no images or readable text. RATS! The statement about the unsupported Bluetooth printing reality is in VERY FINE PRINT in the Knowledge base.
I ended up getting a wireless printer that works with the Airport base station. There is printing again finally, and I am wireless totally- except my Lacie D2 120 gig drive. That's not needed constantly so that's A.OK by me.

I am now very aware that Bluetooth does not support printing! However I think someone is missing a fairly big boat here. I would love to be able to just plunk the TiBook on the physical desktop and be able to seamlessly access all the USB stuff I have accumulated. I now have the appropriate hubs set up so I just have to connect a single cable. So the network is wireless - so what if I have to hook up mechanically for everything else?

How about a wireless USB hub? Whoever can build it first will have the killer add-on for notebooks... and I'll be first in line. The question is: is this printing problem intrinsic in Bluetooth or is it just an early implementation deficiency?

Talking

From that crazy week of trying to get that printer adapter to work, I perused many USB Bluetooth thingys. I found nothing available to wirelessly attach any thing other than a cell phone or PDA. I would certainly love to be wireless with my wacom Intuos tablet! The epson stylus c80wn prints thru the (not extreme) airport base station, or by creating a "computer to computer" network if your computer is equipped with an airport card. If you are able to find a solution, bring it on...

epson r300

I noticed that my Epson r300 (sweet printer btw) has a USB port on the front and Epson's website has a bluetooth adapter that plugs in.....I wonder if that works...for some reason, when I turn on my printer, OSX doesn't see mu USB midi keyboard anymore (sharing a hub)

anyone?

Is it a powered (plugged into wall outlet) hub? or is it dependent on the computer's USB port??
My epson printer would not function through a hub unless the hub was the POWERED from the wall sort.
Certian periferals are allergic to being used through a powerless (passive) hub- they either just refuse to work, or they act strangely. And some things do not work through ANY hub at all-powered or passive- they refuse!. You might be able to get two things working at the same time if they are both plugged directly into the computer with no hub at all...
