status items in menu bar

there are some "hidden" status items for the menu bar in /System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/

I activated the Bluetooth status and the Eject item.

now I have the problem: they don't go away.

anybody with an idea?

I was using the eject menuextra for a while. I had to add it to my login items to get it to stay there, so I just took it out of the login items when I wanted more room in my menu bar again. I think you should be able to command-drag it out of the menu-bar, and not have it come back.
