After market DVD burners

Any body have any luck using aftermarket DVD burners with iDVD yet.

I have a Pioneer DVR-A04 that I bought thinking it was compatible...but it was not!

Anybody thought of using the Super drive firmware update on the DVR A04?

As much as I personally might have like this information to remain available here, I cannot. Apple has forced a retailer to stop distributing a drive with the patch, and it's illegal to apply the patch in order to use iDVD.

I'm not going to argue the merits of Apple's position on this matter, but I won't risk having the site shut down over a matter of a firmware patch. If someone really wants or needs it, they can find it ... but not here.

Sorry...
