Unhappy

Recently, I have been noticing very strange problems with my daily tasks in OS X:

- It would take forever to mount my 5th Gen iPod and external USB2 Hard Drive
- When mounted, it data transfer rates is "very slow"

All my firewire drives and other devices are working as per normal.

From the system.log file I have noticed these entries which is not making any sense to me.

Feb 12 13:29:38 washington kernel[0]: USBF: 67108.947 AppleUSBEHCI[0x2233800]::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 91, timing out!
Feb 12 13:29:44 washington kernel[0]: USBF: 67114.947 AppleUSBEHCI[0x2233800]::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 91, timing out!
Feb 12 13:29:45 washington kernel[0]: USBF: 67115.323 IOUSBDevice[0x3fd2b00]: Error (0xe000404f) getting device device descriptor
Feb 12 13:29:45 washington kernel[0]: USBF: 67115.409 IOUSBDevice[0x3fd2b00]: Error (0xe00002ed) getting device device descriptor

My details:
Machine Name: PowerBook G4 15"
Machine Model: PowerBook5,2
Memory: 1.25 GB
Firewire Devices: EyeTV 410, iSight, icecube II external drive
USB: Maxtor 160gb onetouch, ipod 5th Gen, Wacom Intuos2

If anybody can shed any light on this, it would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Aleks

You need to try your USB devices one at a time to see if you can isolate the error. It sounds like you've been ignoring the tablet in your testing thus far; make sure to unplug it too.

out of curiousity, how slow is very slow?

Does the computer think it is either a usb1 device or a usb1 bus?
