10.2 Mountpoints and fstab
Is any one having any luck with the tip on the Hints page for using mountpoints and fstab?
http://www.macosxhints.com/article.p...02082408201080 I would really like to see this working - it is a common practice in Linux (et.al) to do this sort of thing. Using TRUE mountpoint and fstab you should be able to move your Applications dir (or whatever you want) to another partition, have that partition mounted on the root as "Applications" and not suffer any ill-effects from moving your Applications folder to another partition (e.g. lost services, install failures, etc). I can't say I have verified this yet - as I am unable to get the technique to work. Anyone????? |
