x-post: Sprint connection card help
Hey Folks,
I'm about to go pick up my ibook 14" today. I was a mac user a long time ago and am looking forward to getting back into them! I currently have a Sprint CF2031 connection card that I use with me laptop and pocketPC. Its a compact flash card and has a PCMCIA adaptor for the laptop. Does anyone think I can get this working in OS X using a USB CF card reader? There are now mac drivers, but I have seen that someone got it working under linux using pppd and chat scripts. My linux skills are quite rusty but its worth a try. http://www.va2600.net/cf2031-howto.htm The question is: what would the device be? Would it be the card reader? My other option is to use my PCS vision phone. However, my company has disabled vision and there is no way for me to add it. But since I have the connection card, I have my own account. Can I use the phone to dial the service and then connect under my account for the CF2031 card? Thanks for any suggestions! |

After thinking about how usb readers work (read/write block data, not serial IO)... I think even those skills wouldnt help! |

The CF2031 works with the Sprint PCS vision -- it's just picky about baud rates specified in the modem script. I posted a working modem script and installation instructions here
The Merlin C201 also works. Somebody else developed the script there, but I have cached their package on the same site. |
