Thumbs up Safari v67 leak

Safari v67 could be the last leak of the beta family, so i could'n resist donwloading

After an hour surfing whit safari looks like it getting very stable and fewer bugs.
And a couple of new features like:

Always-visible tab bar
Option to let new tabs be focused, or leave the current tab in focus when a new tab is made
AutoComplete that works with Address Book, and previously entered information and passwords (USES KEYCHAIN!)
AutoFill button that automatically enters information into forms
Increased speed and improved stability

I didn't notice speed diference whit camino and safari stil have some redering problems whit a couple of sites.

So i'm gonna stick whit camino for now , camino's keywords surfing just kick ass!!

Edit - removed download link - CRA

Thumbs down

I'm not the bastion of responsibility but I'm sure you've read this link about Apple putting a stop to developer seeding of Safari. Even though it's close to being finished, the seeding program (sounds saucy) was quite important in my opinion. Reviewing the build through means that led to this situation is questionable at best. My tuppence.

I agree with bassi enough to remove the download link from the original post. No sense in being part of the problem.

For future reference please don't post download links to unofficial Apple software.

Al Gore is flexing his muscle on the board. He's put safari seeds in a lockbox. /satire

Can someone explain what the 'problem' for Apple is? Is there actual damage done by builds being leaked, or is it simply a matter of principle?

I think the only place that explanation could come from is Apple. The termination of the seeding program could constitute 'damage' to the community, if it results in a delayed release.

MacOSXHints has been reasonably consistent in trying to avoid download links to unreleased Apple software in the past and I don't see much reason to change that. If you want to call that a matter of principles, at least you know we have some, and aren't too shy about saying what they are.

I agree completely with the removal of the link. My question is about Apple's policy, not yours.

I already have my copy from an entirely unrelated source.

ok, sorry about the link, i though that we as apple fanatic wouldn't mine if i post the link because we all are curios about developments at apple in this case safari.

But I understand the policy of Graig, But not the policy of apple, if you don't want some thing to leak why do you start such seed program?... you now on the for hand it's gonna happen. And i don't se a reason why apple is doing so secretly abou safari beta developments. look at the mozzila project, they don't and just benefit from it

And as i understood, safari is an open source project... yeh rigth!!

You misunderstood; Safari was never open source. WebCore, the part of Safari based on KHTML, and JavaScriptCore, based on KJS, are both open source and you can get the source from Apple at the above link.

Apple ask all seed participants to sign a non-disclosure agreement; i.e. that they will not reveal any details of the project or projects with which they are involved. So, while you might wish to argue that they should have a more open policy with respect to beta testing the bottom line is that they don't. So personally I can't say I blame them for pulling the plug ... "here's the beta but please keep it to yourselves", "stuff you Apple", "Ok, no more beta testing then". Seems reasonable to me.

If I might add that I didn't know that the person who started this thread would actually put a link to the download, rather the site with the download, and clicked on it Sunday morning a week ago, downloading the Beta. And I must say, that the idea of tabs is intriguing, the bugs most definitely are stll there, as many sites that load fine in a "new window", load horribly in a tab. Not that I wanted to get a "sneak peek", but it seems obvious from a user stand point why the builds weren't official releases.
