Adding SSD iMac Mid 2011 - 21.5"
Hi guys,
I would like to add a second drive in the DVD Bay a SSD iMac Mid 2011 - 21.5". I have not a proper guide it seems to be a difficult task but maybe i would research enough and take action. Questions: 1) Where can i get a: SATA data cable SATA power splitter Custom-cut 3M mounting tape iFixit sell them both for $ 35 but i think is way too much just for two cables or maybe i am wrong. https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/iMa...-Kit/IF173-002 2) What SSD brand and model would you recommend? The Samsung 840 EVO 250GB seems to be quite popular 3) Is there any step by step guide for this upgrade on the 21.5" model? I have seen it on the 27" but i guess they are quite different. What do you think? Any idea and suggestion would be great ![]() Cheers, I

Thanks for the info cpragman ![]() Indeed the guide of OWC it is quite good. I just have to look careful which kit to choose. I see there is one for DUAL HDD and other one for SSD version. In fact, the thermal cable is for adding an extra HDD mechanical drive which is something i don't need. Best,
