Unassign hotkeys

I need to assign the key combo cmd+L to something. I am not allowed to do this because that combination is already assigned to "search with google". I would never use a hotkey for that, so how can I unsaying it?

I am running Yosemite, I am trying to assign the hotkey using SizeUp

On my Yosemite system, Search With Google is Command-Shift-L. No matter, you can go to System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Shortcuts, then go to the Services section to disable or change the shortcut for Search With Google. After that, setting your shortcut for SizeUp should work, though I'll note in the past sometimes applications needed to be quit/relaunched for the effect to occur and I've even heard of a restart being needed before a user's custom one began working.
