Stationary in Mail 6
I recently did a clean install of Mountain Lion . Today i noticed that one of the things i occasionally used in Mail ' Stationary ' has disappeared from the toolbar. Does anyone know if this feature has been removed from Mountain Lion ? I went into ~/library/mail and the files no longer are there. Unfortunately it seems like it is no longer possible to reinstall a single app from the installer. I have googled it but no joy there. Its not a deal breaker but was quite fun to use sometimes
Has anyone else noticed this ?

If you did a clean install, then you will have backed up everything in your user account to some other volume first, before restoring it. Are the files missing there, too? What about your Time Machine backup?
I can't see anything on my toolbar in Mountain Lion's Mail called "Stationery", nor in the menus, nor in ~/Library/Mail. Nor in 10.7. Reinstalling the app won't restore anything to your user account's Library. |

Thanks benwiggy. Your post sent me down a whole different path & i managed to find & reinstall the relevant file. I have a bootable copy of Snow Leopard on an ext HD, so i went to it and searched for stationery. I found a file in Mail/contents/resources that wasn't reinstalled for some reason in Mountain Lion. I took it from Snow Leopard and put it into Mountain Lion Mail. Stationery has showed up again in the Toolbar prefs in New Mail and seems to work fine. All the other relevant templates were copied over when i upgraded to Mountain Lion , i just wasn't looking for them in the right place.
At least i now know what to remove if i start to have problems with mail. So far however, it seems to be working ok. Thanks again for your input. |
