Angry DropBox

This was the first time I used dropbox.
Tonight I

(1) was invited to a folder by my coworker
(2) signed up for dropbox
(3) before even delving too much into the download i activated my account thru the email link that they send out, and DRAGGED AND DROPPED a file from my DESKTOP (I DID NOT LOAD THE FOLDER SHARE AS YET).
(4) I want to know if I shared my entire desktop + interior folder with my coworker (and how to fix it if I did)
(5) Since doing this, some funky stuff has been happening to my files in other folders. Is it possible that I could have shared my entire computer?

DropBox doesn't let you sync "external" folders that aren't inside the DropBox folder.

Where did you drag and drop the file from your desktop to?
What "funky stuff" has been happening?

It's not even clear that you've started the DropBox application. Do you see the DropBox icon in your menu bar?

Open your DrobBox on the website (https://www.dropbox.com/home). Everything you see there is shared. If it's not there, it's not shared.

Well.... everything you see there is being synched between your computer and dropbox. Only items in your "Public" folder, or items that you have explicitly told Dropbox to share, are designated to be viewable by anyone other than those who have access to your DropBox password.

nope... it's a guarantee that all your stuff are secured... been using Dropbox for 3 months now and i never had an issue with it... whenever i take a photo from my phone, my itouch and pc will be updated in just minutes... it syncronizes my pics... :P
