How to play midi with SoundFont or DLS?

How to play midi with SoundFont or DLS?

The default MIDI synthesizer is very very poor, I want take a Fluid R3 soundfont to play MIDI.

But the old method of replacing soundfont is obsolete in OS X Lion.

The old method which is not workable under OS X Lion:

{ Once you've found a .sf2 file, copy it to ~/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks. Then open the "System Preferences", select "QuickTime" and "Music", and select the SoundFont name from the list and click "Make Default". }
