Sharing screen

Hello,
I am connecting a big screen with my mac 10.5.8 and want to disable my mac screen to get a higher resolution on the big screen but I donīt know how to disable it, does any body know how to make it.
I appreciate any help.

You do not need to disable your built-in screen in order to get a higher resolution on the big screen. All you need to do is turn off mirroring.



See that checkbox in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement tab that's marked "Mirror Displays"? Uncheck that, and you'll have separate images on each screen.

Hi,
I know that but I want to have just one screen in use which is the big one as mirror display but with better resolution.
