Cyclical Humming Noise From Drives

Hi there,
I am using a 2.66 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (running OS 10.6.8) in which I installed three drives (a Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB; a Samsung Spinpoint 1TB and a Seagate Barracuda 1TB).

For some weeks now my mac has been making a slow cyclical humming noise (like the buzz of a refrigerator going up and down in volume). Cleaning out with compressed air helped a little but the problem is back.

The noise stops when I eject the Samsung. I initially thought it was defective but then I noticed the noise now persists even when I eject the Samsung and only stops when I eject BOTH the Samsung and the Western Digital.

Could both drives be malfunctioning? Or is it my mac?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks in advance

When you cleaned out the computer with compressed air, did you get to the fans to clean them out, too?
