Time Machine backup
When wanting Time Machine backup onto a new Hard Drive, I have tried it several different ways, at least 6 times, nothing seems to work.
Does the new Hard Drive NEED to have the same OS version and software updates as the backup on my time machine has, could this be my problem? |

Loads more info, please. What version(s) of OS X?
Are you restoring an entire drive from a TM backup? Or using Migration Assistant to get your old data onto a new drive with a new OS? Exactly what have you tried? |

Be more specific, I have tried dozens of ways in a 24 hour period, so many don't remember spicifically, have done all what documentation tells me to do.
