no automatic sleep - why?

My machine won't automatically go to sleep, as per Energy Saver, at least when on battery power. I can command it to sleep, and it works fine. I can close the lid, and it sleeps fine. But it won't automatically sleep.

I power cycled, and reset the Power Manager (Shift-Control-Option-Power), but that didn't help. This seems to have cropped up in the last month or two.

I don't see anything in the Activity Monitor that looks unusual, but ...

Ideas?

Ah, I deleted the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.systemuiserver.plist file and rebooted, as recommended several years ago here. That worked! It snoozes automatically now, right when it should. That file must have gotten corrupted.
