Look in your logs to figure out what is causing the slow boot time. You can view logs using the Console application, found in /Applications/Utilities. Note the time of day, reboot, note the time when the boot process was finished. Now, using Console, look in the system.log. Find the messages between the time you began booting and when booting completed. Copy/paste all the messages from that time here for us to see.
Boot to your Install DVD (assuming you have an external DVD drive for your MacBook Air), select Reset Admin Password from the Utilities menu. Reboot to your internal drive.
The one that's inside of it? Not sure what you mean, the battery is not removable in the ordinary sense of that word. If your current battery is dead and you're comfortable working inside of computers, you can replace it yourself, otherwise it's a trip to your preferred Apple Authorized Repair Center. Trevor
