How did you create the disk image?
When was this? Can you not go back to the original movie source? Drag the DMG file into DiskUtility. What information is presented about the file? |

created it with disk utility.
Name : r.dmg Type : Unattached Disk Image Disk Name : /Macintosh HD/Users/ross/Desktop/r.dmg Disk Image Path : /Users/ross/Desktop/r.dmg Disk Image Size : 3.1 GB (3,340,070,912 Bytes) Location : External i have tried everything suggested that i can find on the net, i need some genius suggestions or i feel its gone forever. stupidly i deleted the original file before checking the d.m.g disk utility cant do anything with it,verify, repair, resize etc. same error always "not recognized" as you can see its just over 3 gb so it exists its just not possible to open |

Post the exact wording (or a screenshot) of the error message(s). The message that you provide--"unable to open not recognized"--doesn't exist in Disk Utility's code (at least in Snow Leopard's DU 11.5.2).
