Scheduled brightness change

When I wake up in the morning and wake up my computer (it's on my bed) I always have to hide my eyes and feel around for the brightness key to turn the brightness down before I look at the screen. I'd like to set up something so that (via Terminal) the brightness will automatically be turned down at a certain time so when I wake it up in the morning it's already dimmed.

Possible?

Thanks!

You may be able to achieve satisfactory results by changing a system preference:

System Preferences > Display > Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes

(Of course, this option will appear only on machines that have an ambient light sensor.)

Awaken has an option for alarms to fade in screen brightness. Note that it's not free.

<sarcasm>

Put the computer somewhere else besides the bed?
