How to remove iCal page flip

How do i remove the stupid and annoying page flip/curl thing in Lion, and preferably the leatherette colouring too. It looks horrid and slows down use of iCal, the most un-Mac thing I ever saw on a Mac.

I've tried this - doesn't work, no files get changed and Lion tweaks - seems to try an install some images, but nothing changes.

Seems to be impossible to change files in the iCal package/resources foilder.

Option helps with clicks though not the keyboard.

There are quite a lot of pages devoted to this. You can get the keyboard to work without page turns, if you alter the shortcut.
