iMac Display with another older Mac

Is there any way to use the self contained 27" iMac display for a Mac G4, or Mac G5 utilizing one of the Thunderbolt ports on the back of the iMac?

Yes, if that older Mac also has a Thunderbolt port - but neither of those have Thunderbolt ports, so the answer is no
