Remove "stuck" folder from sidebar

I have a folder in the sidebar which seems "stuck." Can't remove it, and I made the mistake of removing the actual folder this sidebar item points to.

Is there a way to get rid of this folder?

Are you remembering that as of, like, 10.6.7 you need to hold the Command key when you drag an item from the sidebar?

Even if you don't remember that in the future, right clicking on a sidebar item includes a Remove From Sidebar option. That's true under 10.7 and, I think, 10.6, and I have no recollection for earlier systems.

Okay, for posterity I booted ye olde G3 PowerBook running 10.4. The Remove From Sidebar option is there. The option probably predates Tiger, too.

as in a menu item? I could have sworn just a simple drag was once the move to do it...I remember bcs so many times I'd try to do one thing, see that little puff of smoke, and a folder gone I hadn't intended to be gone.

Your memory is correct. Until 10.6.7 (maybe 10.6.6) we could simply drag an item from the sidebar, then the use of the Command key was added to that action. My last post was about Remove From Sidebar being present when right clicking an item in 10.4.

(And for my keyboard-using preferences, I'm guessing it might be around OS X 10.25 that Apple enables keyboard-based sidebar navigation in the Finder.)
