Macbook Pro 13" will not boot past folder icon
Hi,
apologies I have tried to follwo other tips on threads, however the device above refuses to boot past the folder icon with a ? in it. When the power button is pressed a chime(not a beep) is sounded . I was getting errors when using disk utility, but now the device won't even boot to the install disk. It tries than a black screen saying the device needs to be restarted, it say this in about 5 languages. Any advice, or is it toast ? Thanks in advance. FunkyLG |

This flashing folder with a question mark means that your computer cannot find a valid operating system to boot to.
A chime is normal, beeps indicate memory errors.
What exactly were the errors from Disk Utility? That's a kernel panic. Are you positive that this is the Install Disc that shipped with this computer, and not a different computer?
It's not clear yet. You might have any number of issues, perhaps fixable, perhaps requiring some replacement parts. Please answer the questions above to help us narrow down the possibilities. Trevor
