Current Folder on Windows Server from Finder Changes to Server Root Randomly

I am having issues with Mac users (mostly 10.6.8, though some 10.5) where the user will be browsing deep in the folder structure of a Windows server and they will, seemingly randomly, see the server roll back to the root level of the server. This never happens when they connect to a 10.5 Xserve. Macs are mostly late or current model iMac and MacBook Pro. The Dell Poweredge server runs Windows Server 2003.

I have not found many similar reports besides this one. Has anyone else had any similar experiences? Any resolutions?

Found a solution:

Quote:
Get rid of the user's GlobalPreferences.plist file.

~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist

Unable to connect to SMB or AFP
