File will not delete
Hey All,
I have an application that will not delete. It has no size. Info: Kind = Application Size = -- Version = -- When I put the folder in the trash and empty it, it just hangs the Finder and says "Deleting zero items". If I do a remove in the terminal it just hangs the terminal and the process in activity monitor is using zero CPU. It's like the app folder is in limbo. There is an icon but nothing to delete. Any ideas on how to delete this? Restarting made no difference. Thank you!

step 1 would be to verify/repair the disk which contains that item using Disk Utility (or something better, like DiskWarrior).

I got it!!!
I had to mv the folder to another folder. I then ran chmod and chown. Deleted fine after that. What a pain! |

Perhaps that's the whole idea [especially with Apple's apps.] Depends on OS version, and whose app, and what perms surround the item, and/or which ACLs are in place [none of which were specified in post #1.] Best terminal command for troubleshooting filesystem woes: ls -alOe
