Recently my "Mac HD" was accidentally deleted from the computer, so now my computer is stuck in recovery mode. When i try to install a new copy of mac os x lion it tells me that "to download and restore mac os x, your computer's eligibility will be verified with apple." i click continue and it tells me "could not find installation information for this machine." Any tips to help me fix this problem? -
-thanks |

How, exactly, did you accidentally delete the entire hard drive?
What model of Mac is this? Do you have a system installer disk, or is this a Lion-bought Mac? Do you have another Mac? If so, you might be able to boot your problem Mac into Target mode, and connect it to another Mac with a FireWire cable. Then you can run Disk Utility on the problem Mac to see if the drive is ok. Failing that, I would take it to an Apple Store and see what they can make of it. |
