Can I put a solid state drive in an older iMac( Late 2009 model)
Hello.
Hardware question. I have a late 2009 iMac (model MB950LLA). I've read that upgrading the drives in this model is problematic because of an extra sensor Apple introduced. I wanted to know if the drive can be replaced with a solid state drive and if anyone has successfully done it. Thanks in advance! |

Head over to www.macsales.com and hit up the interactive chat and ask the "rep".
They have never failed me yet. Could be pricey though. You can get the relevant disassembly and fitting guide from ifixit.com. If you do it, be VERY careful with the iSight cabling when removing the iMac facia. Good luck!
