TextEdit keeps launching in Lion

I'm running Lion. I have a problem where TextEdit continues to launch itself. I can't figure out why. I quit the application, and some time later it will automagically restart itself. When it does this there aren't any particular files that it opens, it just opens to a blank file.

I did a google search and couldn't find anything about this. Actually I found an old thread (not about Lion) that suggested to delete the plist files for TextEdit, I did that but it did not work.

I've also looked for any launchd plist files which may be doing this but couldn't find any in either my user account or the system's "LaunchAgent" folders. I also checked my startup items. I really can't figure out why this is happening.

Any suggestions on how to stop this behavior?
