Restore Startup Disk pane option for Windows?

My MacBook has had two Mac partitions for months. To install Windows XP, I simply booted to the XP CD and formatted the non-OS X partition. Now I do not have the Windows partition as a boot choice in "Startup Disk" pane. Yes, I know how to choose the Windows partition in the Startup Manager (alt/option key boot). I would like to recover the option of choosing Windows in the Startup Disk pane without starting over fresh. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I think you have to use Bootcamp to install Windows on a Mac Intel
