Talking Finder History in a New Finder Window

Is there a way to return to a finder location that you have previously had open, but in a new finder window?

Often I will navigate in a Finder window through a whole series of folders on the server at work. If I don't close that finder window I can go backwards and forwards through that browsing history like on a web browser using the forward and back buttons on the finder window toolbar.

However if I close the finder window then I lose all that history. I regularly find myself wishing that I could open a new window and return to the folder that I recently had open in a previous finder window.

Anyone know if this is possible?
