Resuscitating Rob Griffiths' "Auto-Restart Apps" Tip for Leopard?
I used to use our own Rob Griffiths' tip described here:
http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/maco...tart/index.php to automatically relaunch Quicksilver when it quit. Unfortunately, it doesn't work under Leopard because Leopard writes individual time-stamped logs, not into one file. So telling it to look for a change in a single Quicksilver crash log doesn't work any longer, since Quicksilver now writes multiple crash logs. Does anyone have any ideas on how to bring the hint into the Leopard age? |

Although I haven't tested this, it seems there's a KeepAlive option with launchd in 10.5; here's one example (in the Installing MySQL section).
Also, I found this alternative on an Apple mailing list. Also untested here. -rob. |

Thanks, Rob. I am giving the "KeepAlive" feature a try. Although I might be able to implement the script, I don't think I understand exactly how it would plug together with a launchd script, so I figured I'd try the one I fully understood first. :-)

If you get it working, post back (or just submit it) -- it should turn into an updated hint!

The "Keep Alive" one appears to be working!
