SCC Error from mach_kernel on PPP attempt

I installed BrickHouse the other night, and all worked fine. Then, yesterday, I started up the Mac (first reboot since install), and all looked OK except now Internet Connect fails to connect using PPP dialup.

Haven't got the log_file to hand, but the error in /var/log/system.log is something like:

mach_kernel *****SCC Error: An SCC error has occured.

Obviously, I'd love to post an extract, but I cannot connect! ;-)

Any ideas? What is this error, how do I fix it?

I have removed the /Library/Startup Items/Firewall dir as well as all the BrickHouse dir, but I am not sure if it maybe changed some bits I am not aware of...
