Using SSH - Airport Express

Hello all!

To preface, I'm very experience with Mac OS X, but not networking, so please don't dumb down the "open System Preferences" stuff, just dumb down the networking stuff.

I have a wireless network setup in my home. It looks like this:
Cable > Cable Modem > Airport Express (very simple, no router)

The Airport appends an IP of 10.0.1.X (X being a random number) to every machine on the network (there are four computers). I use SSH (ssh jordan@10.0.1.4) to log in remotely and do maintenance on the desktops of the house from my Powerbook. However, I read recently that SSH can be used through the internet.

I'd like to be able to SSH into my home desktops while at work.

I'm guessing the SSH syntax will change, as 10.0.1.4 probably won't get me to my home computer. What do I need to do to find my permanant IP, and how should I use it in SSH? (jordan@168.89.32.233.10.0.1.4 ?)

Thanks very much.
