Problems with Entourage/Exchange Attachments

Hey everyone.

My office and I are having an issue with Entourage2004 taking a very long time to send an attachment through Exchange on Windows Server 2003. Sometimes the client hangs to the point where it will not send at all, and these are just 100kb files. consequently, it will clog the way for any other mail to come in or go out. on my OS10.3.9, it took an hour to send 500kb. The problem is across versions 10.3 and 10.4.

we've changed domain settings and that cleared some issues, but the main problem of attachments is still present.

any help on the issue is appreciated. I'm new to the site as well as to IT, as I am an intern, so please note if you require any information about the systems.
