I've screwed up bad. Can someone help?

Okay, I know I'm dumb. I know I'm really, really dumb. I know this. Don't tell me this. This is what I've got:

i. a hard drive with about 700 songs auto-synchronised (I KNOW!) to my week-old iPod mini. :-D
ii. about three albums bought from the iTMS on said iPod/iTunes library.
iii. ummm... a hard drive failure on my old PB G3. :-/
iv. a new hard drive. 60GB 7200rpm! :-)
v. no apparent way of getting the songs from my iPod mini onto my new hard drive. :-(
vi. no apparent way of re-downloading my purchased songs from the iTMS into a new iTunes library (I'll email them about that, though)... otherwise, the loss of the other songs might not be the end of the world.

I know I shouldn't have had the auto-sync "feature" turned on - but, like I said, I've only had this toy a week and was still fiddling with it.

Does anyone have *any* suggestions?...

Thanks all,
j.

1) Get into the habit of backing up your data!
2) You can get songs off iPods with any of the following:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24179
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/23244
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/20856
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18323
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/15864

Plus a boatload more if you search on VersionTracker.com.

I do not think Apple will allow you to redownload songs you purchased from the iTMS.

Im pretty sure if you go to "Advanced --> Check for Purchased Music" in iTunes, you'll be able to redownload songs. Assuming they are not already in your library/downloaded on your system. Im not COMPLETELY sure about this though.
